We were so giddy.

I was actually excited for camp today.

I think it's been a very long journey to get here. The emotional highs and lows of 2017 are already stacking, but this is something I've had to work quite hard for. And I have worked so hard.

Having been unable to focus on packing, myself and Alex headed out to Asda for a final supplies run and chocolate session.

So Alex.

Made a big cock up.

We were walking past the end of an aisle and she was absentmindedly reading products from one of the shelves.

The next two syllables were probably life changing for all involved.

It went on for two long as she essentially made eye contact with two. very large. large. ladies.

Alex just shouted SLIMFAST at two fat people. (SORRY).

But we were both excited.

The below book was lent to me to help with all things paddling related.

Unfortunately, I had to give it back.

But I went out and bought myself a copy for the below passage.

I don't want to lose sight of the reason I paddle. It's because I bloody love the sport.

I want to paddle all the time. It's just quite hard at the moment.

I think my poor colleagues are sick of hearing about paddling.

I'll come in every day with something new I've learnt, read or heard.

They have to endure me excitedly chattering away about something to do with the sport. They nod as I explain it, and attempt to look mildly surprised that I haven't fallen in again.

They're very good to me.

We probably stayed out too late.

But it had been a perfect evening. A great way to end a really amazing day.
