/ beauty / review / Rimmel / stay matte pressed powder

I am one of those people who upon application of my make-up is unlikely to go back a during the day and do it again. Nope. I like to slather my face in the stuff and forget about it.

The claims (as provided by Rimmel)
Up to 5 hours natural shine control
Minimises the appearance of pores
Smooth application

The reality
At £3.99 from Boots (who seem to claim it minimises shine for up to 12 hours) I like this powder a lot. It definitely saves you on those hot days when your foundation is threatening to melt, and makes your face last for AGES.  For someone who is white all year round I have to use the transparent shade - and would warn that if you actually have some colour to your face it will be far too pale.

I don't know about minimising pore appearance - I just know that I far prefer my face with it on rather than with it off. Definitely though, I agree it applies smoothly - I just use an old powder brush and have never had problems with unevenness or blotching.

Overall, I'm going to keep buying this powder. I'm sure there are better ones out there (always the case) but this one works for me and lasts ages.

Which powders would you recommend?
